Mecus — Refund Policy
Effective date: June 11, 2026
This policy explains the withdrawal-of-subscription and refund standards for paid features and benefits such as the Mecus Pro pass and Mecus Credits. Rights granted to consumers under applicable law take precedence over this policy.
Payments are sold and processed by Paddle.com Market Ltd (Paddle), which acts as the Merchant of Record. Paddle is the legal seller of record and handles payment, applicable taxes, refunds, and payment disputes on our behalf.

1. Basic principles
- If Mecus Credits are purchased and not used at all, a refund may be requested within 7 days of payment.
- The Pro pass and Mecus Credits are Mecus-app-only digital products and cannot be exchanged for cash, withdrawn, transferred, gifted, traded between users, resold, or exchanged for external goods.
- The Pro pass can be stacked up to 90 days. If more than 61 days remain, additional purchases are restricted to avoid exceeding the 90-day cap; purchases become available again once 60 days or fewer remain.
- The Pro pass is purchased by deducting 4,000 Mecus Credits, so from the moment Pro is activated or extended on the account, delivery of a digital benefit through the use of credits is deemed to have begun and refunds may be restricted.
- Once delivery of digital content begins (e.g., Pro activation or the spending of credits on an in-app feature), withdrawal of subscription may be restricted.
- Free chat and any free-of-charge items are independent of credits and have no cash value, so they are not eligible for refunds.
- Purchased (paid) credits are valid for 5 years from the last top-up (renewed on each additional top-up — rolling), and any unused balance may be refunded under this policy (statutory limitation period: 5 years).
- Event (free) credits expire 90 days after the grant date; they have no cash value and are not eligible for refund or exchange. When credits are spent, the soonest-to-expire event credits are used first, followed by purchased credits.
- However, where a refund or compensation is required by law — such as delivery different from what was described, duplicate payment, payment error, or an outage attributable to the operator — the matter is handled individually after review, regardless of use.
- If a credit pack is purchased and only part of the balance is used, partial-refund eligibility is assessed after checking the unused paid balance, granted benefits, and whether the payment method can be cancelled.
2. Cases eligible for a refund
- Within 7 days of payment and the purchased Mecus Credits have not been used at all.
- The same payment was approved more than once (duplicate charge).
- Payment was made but the Pro pass or credits were not granted and the operator could not restore them within a reasonable time.
- A purchased digital benefit was not delivered due to the operator, or was delivered differently from the main content shown/notified.
- Cancellation is recognized under applicable law, such as a minor's payment made without the consent of a legal guardian.
3. Cases where a refund may be restricted
- The Pro pass has been immediately activated or extended.
- A free benefit such as a complimentary coupon has been used or is difficult to reclaim given its purpose.
- Credits have been spent on an in-app feature.
- Benefits not directly purchased with cash, such as complimentary coupons, event coupons, giveaways, or operator rewards.
- An attempt was made to use the Pro pass or credits for a purpose prohibited by the terms, such as cashing out, withdrawal, transfer, gifting, trading, resale, exchange for external goods, or purchase of game items.
- Use was restricted due to the member's fault, such as account sharing, breach of terms, promotion of illegal programs, or payment-method theft.
4. Withdrawal of membership and refunds
- On withdrawal, account benefits such as the Pro pass, Pro time, and Mecus Credits are not recoverable.
- If you hold paid benefits that may be refundable, you should submit a refund inquiry before withdrawing.
- Even after withdrawal, transaction records needed for payment, refund, and dispute handling may be stored separately under applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
5. Refund procedure
- When requesting a refund, provide account identifiers, the payment date/time, amount, transaction number, and the reason for the refund.
- The operator reviews usage history, granted benefits, payment-notification records, and consent records, then advises on refund eligibility.
- As Paddle is the Merchant of Record, refunds are processed through Paddle. If the payment method cannot be cancelled, the refund may be processed by an alternative method in accordance with applicable law and Paddle's policy.
In case of any discrepancy, the Korean-language version of this policy prevails for customers in South Korea.
